I was just crossing Leicester Square when an old gent wearing a suit and carrying a bouquet of flowers stopped me.
Gent: Young lady, can I just say well done for wearing a scarf?
Me: Oh thanks, it’s freezing isn’t it?
Gent: I see some girls over towards Hatton Garden, they’re walking around with their coats unzipped, no scarf, no hat. I know girls are tough, but really you’ve got to wrap up warm.
Me: Yeah I don’t know how they do it.
Gent: It’s silly. You should invest in a hat too, just to be safe.
Me: I will, have a nice day!
Obviously I won’t be buying a hat. You can’t wear a hat over curly hair, my entire head would just become a wall of static electricity, but I appreciated the concern.
